DUB

Rio de Janeiro’s hip hop icon BNegão teamed up with the main sound system in the beautiful town: Digitaldubs. The result is the dubplate track “Reação”, a huge success on Digitaldubs’ block parties all over the country.

RAP / REGGAETON

Hip Hop collective Covil do Flow – from Rocinha Favela, Rio de Janeiro – presented their debut track with new label Trojan Brasil. “Favela Town” has a fresh, exotic and exciting sound, that flirts with reggaeton. They are ready to bring the music of the people to the people.

HARDCORE / ELECTRONIC

UK duo SSHH (The Band) is back with the electrifying new single “Extra Extra” featuring Brazilian hip hop icon BNegão. The instant connection and chemistry between them made it clear that a musical collaboration was inevitable and has come to fruition in the form of this Electronic, Afrobeat pop song released by BMG.

AFRO / PUNK / MPB

Karina Buhr is now at Berlinale (Berlin International Film Festival) promoting the movie “Meu Nome é Bagdá”. Besides being an actress, she is a powerful singer, composer and percussionist. Music critics describe her as a “Drum Punk” artist. Karina Buhr released her fourth album, Desmanche, in 2019.

 DISCO

The emerging Paris-based, disco and funk-influenced electro pop act Superjava returns with Javaland‘s follow-up, Soul Dance EP (Peermusic France / Roche Musique). The single “Wake Up The Soul” has two main goals: put a smile on your face and make you dance.

MPB

BNegão, this time as a crooner with “Morena do Mar”. This is the first recorded track of his tribute for Dorival Caymmi, one of the main MPB artists of all times. Caymmi contributed to the birth of Brazil’s bossa nova movement and several of his samba pieces since 1933.

 REGGAE

The Jamaican DJ originator, the man who got the whole world jumping from the 1970s to now – the great U-ROY  is back. His brand new single features him triumphantly revisiting his iconic song, “Wake The Town” that helped make his name. Vividly reimagined by the Trojan Jamaica family – that features hitmaking and GRAMMY award-winning drum and bass rhythm section Sly and Robbie, Tony Chin (of the original Soul Syndicate crew) and the legendary Robbie Lyn on keyboards – the track has an infectious spring and a fat bounce.
