“Oxóssi” – new single available September 4 th

The Art of Craca (heteronym of Felipe Julián) comes across the intersection between visual arts and music. Master in Audiovisual Communication; he focus his artistic work on Art Installation, Sound and Audiovisual performances as well as Videomapping. Digital Art is in his DNA – both in the scope of music production and New Media Art.

He is proud to announce the release of the new single “Oxóssi”, available September 4, 2020, at all streaming services. The track has a taste of cumbia, forró and dub and the sweet voice of Sandra-X.

Craca lives in Sao Paulo and has already designed visual art works in several cultural institutes in Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay. Escorted by his peculiar music which travels through electronics, Latin and Afro-Brazilian, he has been to countries such as England, France, Germany, Belgium, Norway, Argentina, Northern Ireland, Czech Republic and Chile.

In 2020, Craca is in quarantine developing art pieces, having social isolation as a starting point.

“Affection Reflection”, an expanded music-visual cinema performance, was inspired by documentaries of the pioneer Jean Painleve, a Frenchman who coined the phrase “science is fiction”.

“Squamata” is the self-portrait of a contemporary digital artist.

“Craca em Ruínas” is his new act that debuted on July 23rd. It is a virtual presentation in which the artist grabs hold of ruin pictures from the internet so as to broaden his audiovisual and sound narrative.

Away from the stages where he had been performing live sets and videomapping, Craca comes out in the pandemic with a new concept of virtual audiovisual installation. Live, he designs immersive digital installations while inviting everyone online to drift and dance with his multicultural beats. Next date for the show “Craca em Ruínas” is in October at Marte New Media Art Festival in Ouro Preto MG, Brazil.

I am a barnacle of Russian Arab Catholic-Jewish European Latin American third-world atheist origin. No baloney. I am an ordinary non-native Brazilian. I’ve got no less than 3 continents and 5 unwilling immigrations in my blood. All of that is in my music”, Craca.

In 2019, the award-winning music producer Craca Beat released his debut solo album, Traquitana Audiovisual.

Essentially instrumental, dancing and global the album blends Brazilian and Afro-Latin sounds on electronic bases. Videomapping (in addition to outfits) is his great on-stage visual tool as the videoclip “Brazuka Noir” puts forward.

Craca performs in live-set format or in the Craca and Dani Nega project with the MC and actress Dani Nega. Both of them have two album releases: O Desmanche (2019) and Craca, Dani Nega e o Dispositivo Tralha (2016). This last album was awarded with the best electronic music album at the acclaimed “Brazilian Music Awards” – 28th edition in 2017.

For 10 years (2003-2013), Craca has joined the experimental music and technology project Axial (along with Sandra-X).

Awarded in the world of music, he is the most likely pick for electronic, experimental and even “new Brazilian music” categories.
